Cancer Research UK Grand Challenge award for BCI researchers

Professor John F Marshall, Dr Becki Pike and collaborators have been announced as one of the first global research teams to be recipients of Cancer Research UK’s Grand Challenge award.

They aim to create the equivalent of a ‘Google Earth’ for cancer, mapping tumours in unprecedented detail – from the whole tumour down to individual molecules in cells...

London Pancreas Workshop 2016

Professors Hemant Kocher and Nick Lemoine co-organised the sixth biennial London Pancreas Workshop, which took place on Friday 29th April. The conference is billed as a forum for state-of-the-art clinical and basic research in pancreatic cancer.

The event was a huge success, bringing together medics, students, charities, and sponsors. 150 delegates were in attendance, packing out the lecture theatre.

Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund Tissue Bank at BCI on BBC News

The world’s first national tissue bank for pancreatic cancer has launched in the UK here at BCI, to help push forward research into the cancer with the bleakest prognosis, and was featured on BBC News yesterday.

The resource will allow researchers to answer more questions about this still deadly form of cancer, and hopefully lead to new effective treatments for patients...

UK-wide specialist lymphoma consortium co-run by BCI researchers

Professor Jude Fitzgibbon and Dr Trevor Graham will receive a £330,000 grant as part of a £2.2 million award from Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
