Dr Melania Capasso (pictured) has been awarded the prestigious Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Bennett Fellowship to elucidate the role of the voltage-gated proton channel in B cell cancers.

Over half a million pounds has been generously awarded over a 5 year period and includes a postdoctoral position for 4 years (advertised here).

“It is a great honour to receive the award of the highly competitive Bennett Fellowship. I am very grateful to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research for providing me with this great opportunity.”

The award will provide fundamental insight into how cancerous B cells rely on proton channels and will hopefully lead to the development of new therapeutic drugs in the future.
