Jurre Kamphorst

As part of the BCI's Thursday Seminar Series, we are pleased to welcome Jurre Kamphorst of the Beatson Institute to present. Jurre's work focuses on assigning structures and functions to deregulated lipids in cancer, and elucidating how cancer cells maintain lipid homeostasis during metabolic stress. More information about his work can be found here.

The seminar is entitled: 'The fats about cancer: how lipid metabolism and signalling are shaped by the tumour microenvironment.'

This will be held in the Lister and Young Seminar Room, from 12.30pm-1.30pm.

Dr. Kamphorst will be available anytime between 9:00 - 5:00pm (except 12:30 - 1:30pm) to meet with academic staff, postdocs and students. If you would like to meet with him then please contact Sara Muradi s.muradi@qmul.ac.uk

Professor Zongbing You

As part of the BCI's Thursday Seminar Series, we are pleased to welcome Professor Zongbing You from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans. His team has focused on understanding the role of inflammation in cancer initiation, promotion, and progression, in particular in interleukin-17 (IL-17) pathway in prostate cancer. The title of his talk will be: IL-17-MMP7-EMT Axis as Potential Druggable Target in the Prevention and Treatment of Prostate Cancer.

Ramesh Arasaradnam
