DESCRIPTION:As part of the BCI’s Seminar Series\, we are pleased to welcome Dr Heinz Läubli from the University of Basel (Switzerland) to present at the BCI on Thursday 16th January. For more information about Dr Läubli’s research\, please click here. \nThe seminar is entitled: ‘Cancer Immunotherapy by Manipulation of Tumor-Associated Glycosylation’. \n\nImpact of the cancer-associated glycosylation on immune suppression\nEnzymatic targeting of cancer-associated glycosylation\nDiscussion of the sialoglycan/Siglec pathway as new target for cancer immunotherapy\nGlycan manipulation for cellular therapies\n\nHeinz Läubli is a physician scientist with clinical training and a specialisation in medical oncology. He is a senior attending physician at the University Hospital in Basel and a head of the laboratory for cancer immunotherapy at the Department of Biomedicine. His research focuses on glycan changes in solid tumors and their influence on the anti-tumor immune response. He is employing genetic and enzymatic manipulation to modify glycans for improvement of cancer immunotherapy.
