BCI at the 2015 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100

Kaye Yeung Posted in Charity, Events 02 August 2015

On Sunday 2 August, our team of BCI riders took part in the 2015 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 race, known to many as “the greatest mass-participation cycling event in the world”.

Cheered on by our BCI volunteers and crowds of spectators, our riders embarked on the gruelling 100 mile London - Surrey bike ride, all in aid of the Barts Cancer Institute. A massive thank you and congratulations to our riders who all made it across the finish line in excellent time.

 Happy BCI Riders and Volunteers

As the action came to a successful close, here is what some of the riders and volunteers had to say.

Hanlon Tong & Luke Marshall (cyclists):

Thanks for letting us ride for Barts Cancer Institute over the weekend! It was a great day for ride and we enjoyed every painful minute of it and the beers afterwards. We really appreciate the valuable opportunity”.

Katherine (volunteer):

“I had such a great time volunteering for the BCI on Sunday - the atmosphere was electrifying and spectacular! I would definitely do it again next year. I am so proud of all 9 BCI cyclists who managed to complete the entire course despite hot weather and leg-testing climbs!”

Next up is the London Triathlon, taking place on 8-9 August, If you would like to attend the event and volunteer for BCI, please email us at bci-fundraising@qmul.ac.uk
