The Cancer Research UK City of London Centre is a major partnership bringing together leading London institutions to develop new cancer biotherapies. It combines discovery science, clinical research and data expertise to accelerate the translation of new treatments into practice.
PharosAI
PharosAI is a major UK-wide initiative designed to unlock the potential of artificial intelligence in cancer research and care. The partnership is co-led by Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London, working closely with Barts Health NHS Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre Network
We're part of the ECMC network, a UK-wide network of centres that bring together academic and clinical partners to drive the discovery and development of new cancer therapies. The network is funded jointly by Cancer Research UK, the Little Princess Trust, the National Institute for Health Research in England, and the Health Departments for Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Radionuclides for Health UK
Radionuclides for Health UK is an advocacy project that aims to highlight the need for the UK to establish a domestic supply of radionuclides for use in cancer research, treatment and diagnostics.

VacV Biotherapeutics
VacV Biotherapeutics is a spin-out company from Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, developing viral-based immunotherapies designed to both destroy cancer cells and stimulate long-term immune responses. Built on over 20 years of research, its platform aims to expand the reach and effectiveness of immunotherapy.
Procyon Diagnostics
Procyon Diagnostics is a spin-out company from Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, developing non-invasive tests to detect cancer earlier, starting with pancreatic cancer. Using biomarkers in blood and urine combined with machine learning, its approach aims to support earlier diagnosis and improve outcomes.
Kinomica
Kinomica is a spin-out developing diagnostic tools that use protein signalling to guide more precise cancer treatment. Its KScan platform helps identify which therapies are most likely to work by measuring how tumours respond to drugs in real time.
Matrix Dynamics
Matrix Dynamics is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) which aims to leverage its extracellular matrix target discovery and drug development platform to develop therapies against novel cancer targets. These include tumour specific glycans, which coat cancer-associated proteins as well as immune cells and cancer cells. The background data for Matrix Dynamics was generated in Dr Oliver Pearce's group at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
