Procyon Diagnostics is focused on improving how cancer is detected, starting with pancreatic cancer — a disease often diagnosed at a late stage. Built on more than 15 years of research at Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, the company is developing tests that use biomarkers in blood and urine combined with machine learning.
Founded by Professor Tatjana Crnogorac-Jurcevic, Procyon reflects BCI’s expertise in biomarker discovery and translational science. The company has secured early-stage investment and established partnerships to support the development, validation and delivery of its first test, PancRISK.
By enabling earlier detection, Procyon’s approach could expand opportunities for treatment and improve outcomes. The platform is also designed to be scalable, with potential applications across multiple cancer types using simple, non-invasive samples.
