Overview
Using banked serum samples from the UK Collaborative Trial of Ovarian Cancer Screening (UKCTOCS), I am extracting circulating free DNA (cfDNA) from women diagnosed with cancer and trying to find cancer-specific signatures that are present in pre-diagnostic samples, using bioinformatics tools and machine learning. These signatures have the potential to be used as a screening/diagnostic tool, facilitating the prospect of a blood test for cancer.
